Critical Mounting Instructions

To ensure long-term reliability and prevent thermal runaway, follow these mounting practices for the Module-09E package:

  • Heatsink Requirement: At currents above 25A, external heat dissipation is mandatory. These modules are typically mounted to an aluminum heatsink or a cold plate within the solar junction box.
  • Surface Preparation: The mounting surface must be flat (within 4 mils/inch) and free of burrs or scratches to minimize contact thermal resistance.
  • Thermal Interface Material (TIM): Apply a thin, uniform layer (100–200 μm) of silicone thermal grease or use a thermal pad to fill microscopic air gaps between the module and the heatsink.
  • Mounting Torque: Recommended Range: 0.4 Nm to 0.6 Nm (approx. 4–6 kgf·cm).
  • Caution: Under-tightening increases thermal resistance, while over-tightening can deform the plastic package, lifting the internal die away from the base and causing “hot-spot” failures.
  • Environmental Protection: Ensure the junction box is designed for easy heat dissipation, as internal temperatures can exceed 70°C in sunny conditions, potentially increasing leakage current and leading to junction meltdown
Applications
  • Photovoltaic (PV) panels and arrays
  • Solar charge controllers
  • Inverters and power optimizers
  • Battery backup and hybrid systems
  • Off-grid solar installations
